Superintendent hold's book

The benefits of reading extend far beyond the positive impact on academic success. Reading touches every aspect of life! Superintendent Amy Peterman invites students to explore the wonders of reading and enjoy monthly rewards as part of her new student book club, CUSD Reads.

Students who read a book in any month from October through March and write a short review (or draw a picture for grades TK/K) can earn a reward including stickers, bookmarks, books, reading lights, and more. Students who read a book every month can collect a reward every month! At the end of March, each school will put all of the collected reviews into a random drawing and select one student per school to win an e-reader.

Students are encouraged to visit their school libraries to explore books, receive blank review forms, turn in completed reviews, and learn about monthly Book Club themes. Through our partnership with the Ceres Library (2250 Magnolia Street), students who check out a book within the monthly theme will also receive a stamp on their Ceres Public Library Passport.
