Baseball

Varsity: Central Valley 11, Livingston 0

JV: Central Valley 12, Livingston 0

The Hawks continued their dominant play in the WAC as they blanked the Livingston Wolves by the score of 11-0.  Edgar Peralta had a huge game for the Hawks as he smashed 2 home runs and finished the day 2-2 (2 HR, 6 RBI)Carter Hernandez (2-3) and Ezequiel Verduzco (2-4, 2 doubles) both had multi-hit games contributing to the Hawk 10 hit attack.  CV is now 9-5 overall and 5-0 in the WAC (ranked #10 in the SJS DI rankings).  The Hawks will look to sweep the Wolves this Thursday when they play here at CV at 4:00pm.  On Saturday, the Hawks will host the Heritage Patriots from Brentwood in a tough non-league matchup at Noon.  

 

Softball

Varsity: Central Valley 14, Johansen 2

The Hawks took care of business on Monday as the beat the Johansen Vikings by the score of 14-2.  Madelyn Morales led the way going 1-1 with 3 RBI, 2 BB’s, and 3 runs scored.  The Hawks are now 8-4 overall and 2-2 in WAC play.  The WAC standings are congested at the top with several teams in the mix for a post-season berth as the top 3 teams will get an automatic spot.  CV will host Lathrop this Friday in a crucial matchup as both teams are sitting near 3rd place.  After the Lathrop game, CV will then play at Ceres next Wednesday and at Grace Davis for a double-header on Friday.
