The Lady Hawks braved the storm yesterday and successfully battled the elements and the Sierra Wolves on their way to a 15-6 victory. CV’s offense exploded for 16 runs as the Hawks moved their pre-season record to 6-2. The Hawks were led by Gabby Delatorre (3-5, RBI), Reylena Herrera (3-4, HR, 4 RBI, 3 runs), Abigail Krauss (3-5, HR, 2B, RBI, 3 runs) and multi-hit games from Valeria Espinoza, Madelyn Morales, Brooklyn Steeley, and Addisyn Prudhel. The Hawks will look to keep their win streak alive when they travel to Atwater this Friday to take on the Falcons.
Boys Volleyball
Varsity: Los Banos 3, Central Valley 2 (17-25, 28-26, 25-19, 20-25, 9-15)
JV: Central Valley 2, Los Banos 0 (25-23, 25-14)
The Boys Volleyball team traveled to Los Banos last night and dropped a tight one to the Tigers in 5 sets. After a slow start, the Hawks bounced back and took both the 2nd and 3rd set. CV couldn’t finish things off, but put up a solid fight and improved from their loss earlier this week to Stagg. The JV Hawks picked up a win in their first match of the season. The Varsity Hawks will be busy this Friday and Saturday as they will play in the Golden Valley tournament in Merced.
