Frosh: Central Valley defeats Lathrop

The Hawks continued their hot streak with a big time win over the Lathrop Spartans on Wednesday night.  Lathrop came into the game sitting at 4-1 in WAC play and in sole possession of 2nd place.  The Hawks defended their home court and took down the Spartans by the score of 63-51. CV was led by Jace McLennon 22pts 3 Rebs 2 stls, Andre Flores 12pts 8rebs 5ast, Michael Martinez 9pts 2 Rebs 1blk, and Silas Rodriguez 8pts 3rebs 3ast; the Hawks connected on 10, 3-pointers!  The win improves CV’s WAC record to 4-2, which is good enough for a spot in 2nd place (tied with Lathrop, Grace Davis, and Johansen at 4-2).  CV does have wins over both Lathrop and Johansen so far this season and battled with the 1st place Beyer Patriots in a 58-50 loss.  The Frosh and JV Hawks also picked up wins to move their league records to 5-1 apiece.  To close out the first round of league play, the Hawks have a HUGE game tonight as they host their crosstown rivals, the Ceres Bulldogs.  We expect to have an electric crowd tonight and invite you to join us.  Let’s pack the gym for the Crosstown Showdown! Game times are 4:30pm/6:00pm/7:30pm.  As a reminder, we do not charge staff members for games.  You just have to present your staff ID badge for entry.
