Boys Soccer

Varsity: Central Valley 3, Ceres 0

The Hawks handled their business on Thursday afternoon at River Bluff Park with a huge crosstown win over the Ceres Bulldogs.  Not only was this an important league win, it also give the Hawks some confidence going into the 2nd half of league play. CV was able to get through the first round of WAC play with no losses and a record of 5-0-2 (1st place).  With 7 games remaining on the schedule, the goal for the Hawks is to secure that league title and gain momentum into the playoffs.  CV will look to continue this playoff push next week when they host the Grace Davis Spartans on Tuesday.  The JV Hawks are also playing well as they finished up the first half of WAC play with a perfect record of 7-0.

Girls Soccer

Varsity: Central Valley 2, Ceres 0

JV: Central Valley 6, Ceres 1

The Lady Hawks are absolutely on fire right now as they took down the 2nd place Ceres Bulldogs last night by the score of 2-0.  This win moves CV’s overall record to an impressive 14-1-1 overall and 7-0 in the WAC.  In the 7 WAC games the girls have won, they have yet to give up a goal and have outscored their opponents to the tune of 32-0.  The Hawks will continue their march towards the league title next week when they play Grace Davis.

Girls Wrestling

Central Valley 72, Grace Davis 12

Central Valley 53, Pacheco 22

The Girls Wrestling program continues their dominating start to WAC play as they took down both the Grace Davis Spartans and the Pacheco Panthers last night.  This puts the girls dual league record at 4-0 as the Hawks are poised to compete for the league title.  The Hawks will compete this weekend at the D-Lo Tournament at Golden Valley in Merced and will then resume league play next week when they take on Lathrop and Livingston.  The Livingston and CV girls wrestling programs have always been at the top of the standings together, so we expect some exciting matches on Tuesday night.

Grace Davis 36, Central Valley 30

The Boys Wrestling team had a solid evening as they took down the Pacheco Panthers by the score of 57-22 and held their own against the league favorite Davis Spartans in a narrow defeat.  This puts the Hawks at 2-2 and right in the thick of the race for the 3rd and final WAC playoff spot.  The Hawks will be back in action next Tuesday against Lathrop and Livingston.
