The Hawks boys soccer program continued their hot start to the season with a couple of dominating wins over two very strong local programs. Last Wednesday night, the Hawks put 8 goals on the DI Section semi-finalist Modesto Panthers en route to an impressive 8-3 win. CV goals came from
Yahir Pérez (4), Alejandro García (3), and Iván Velasquez 1 with assists from Diego De Jesús, Julio Larrañaga, Enrique López, Victor Macias, Alejandro Garcia, Aaron Flores, Miguel Serrano and Diego Ochoa. Last night, CV kept things rolling as they shutout the Riverbank Bruins 5-0. CV goals came from Alejandro Garcia (2), Enrique Lopez, Miguel Serrano, and Diego Covarrubias with assists by Alexis Cervantes, Yahir Pérez, Diego Covarrubias, Enrique López, and Diego Ocho. The Hawks are now 4-0 in the pre-season and they will look to keep things going against another strong opponent on Wednesday night when they host the East Union Lancers at 3:45pm/5:45pm. The JV Hawks are also 4-0 on the young season.
Girls Soccer
Varsity: Central Valley 8, Ceres 1
JV: Central Valley 1, Ceres 0
The Lady Hawks were ready for the Crosstown Showdown last night as the cold weather did not slow down the CV offense. The Hawks peppered the back of the net with an impressive 8 goals against the Ceres Bulldogs (stats not provided yet). This puts the Hawks at 2-0 with impressive wins over Turlock High and Ceres High. The JV Hawks are also 2-0 with a tight 1-0 win over Ceres. The Lady Hawks will be back in action when they travel to Lathrop High on Thursday to take on the Spartans; a future WAC league matchup.
Boys Basketball
Varsity: Central Valley 68, Hilmar 23 (from 11-24)
The Varsity Hawks competed at Atwater High in a NorCal Showcase game against the Hilmar Yellowjackets. The CV defense put pressure on the Jackets all game long and the Hawks used this to put up a big 68-23 win. CV was led by Robbie Singh who topped all scorers with 15 points. The Hawks will be back in action tonight in their home opener. CV will take on the Modesto Panthers with game times of 4:30pm/6:00pm/7:30pm. Come out and support your Hawks!
Boy Wrestling
Varsity: Central Valley 52, Modesto High 19
JV: Central Valley 54, Modesto High 17
In their first team dual of the season, the boys wrestling program put up a strong effort and defeated the Modesto Panthers 52-19. The match results are attached to this email so you can see the breakdown of each weight class. CV will be back in action this weekend with a Varsity Boys tournament at Turlock High while the JV Boys and Varsity Girls will compete at the Bristow Brawl at Atwater High this Saturday.

Varsity: Davis 67, Central Valley 37
The Varsity girls basketball team dropped a road game at Grace Davis last night by the score of 67-37. This puts the Hawks at 0-2 in the pre-season as CV will look to get back on track next Tuesday when they host the Oakdale Mustangs.
