Information for Immigrant Families

CUSD is a culturally rich district where every student and family contributes to the vibrancy of our school communities. We are committed to providing safe, welcoming, and effective learning environments for every student entrusted to us.

All students, regardless of immigration status, have a constitutional right to a free public K-12 education. Students are also guaranteed the right to attend a safe, secure, and peaceful school, free from discrimination, harassment, and bullying.

Consistent with law and Board Policy, CUSD does not ask about the immigration status of students or their families. We do not share confidential or personally identifiable student information with outside agencies or officials, except as required by law.

We encourage families to keep their contact information up-to-date with their child’s school to ensure they can receive important communications. If parents or guardians wish to authorize a trusted adult to make educational or medical decisions for their child in the event the parent is unable to do so, they can complete the Caregiver’s Authorization Affidavit, available through the link on this page.

We are honored to partner with families and the Ceres community to ensure that CUSD schools are places where all students feel valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their full potential.

All students, including those who are undocumented or come from immigrant families, have the right to attend public school, participate in school activities, and receive a quality education without discrimination.
